Hello!

 

I am a farmer who is very passionate about both farming and education. I work alongside my husband Tom, and our children, James and Mollie.

 

My aim is to bring to you a farm experience right to your school, nursery or residential home with our family of friendly animals. I am CEVAS and BSL level one trained and aim to make the visit educational as well as fun, following the national curriculum. All our staff are CBS checked and have gained their child safe guarding certificates.

 

During our visit we always start with a short safety talk about the animals. We talk about the importance of not putting fingers near mouths of the animals and being quiet and calm around them. We will also talk about why the children should not put hands up to their faces after stroking the animals and how important it is to wash our hands afterwards. We introduce the animals to the children and answer a few questions about them. We will then teach the children the discussed lesson plan. Using worksheets or activity based on the animals, farming and food production. I will bring the farm to you so the children  can touch, feel and hold the animals whilst you learn about how they are raised and farm to fork process. If you have no room for animals i can come along as a farm practitioner teaching the “farm to fork” process in cooking demonstrations or demonstrations of wool or dairy products. I also give talks on the farming life and the animals on our farm.

 

Included in all prices is a pre-visit to discuss your classes needs and to arrange where best to site the outdoor classroom. We bring everything we need for the animals and any props we need and take away all the animals leave and we can work in most weathers as we have our own gazebos.
